Day Care at Stonehedge provides a place where your dog can relax and go at their speed, make dog friends, socialize, and play with each other.
This means doing doggie things like sniffing, digging, playing with toys, and enjoying our shady, private, forested property. They can bark at our squirrels, play hide and seek, jump on hay bales, splash in the pools, or lay down and doze in the sun. Your dog can play with some of our other guests or watch other dogs play and be silly. We believe that daycare offers your dog a chance to gain social confidence with other dogs in safe surroundings, or if your dog is not interested in playing, he will not be forced to interact.
Although we supervise your dog’s activities, we are not here to bond with your dog so that he becomes jealous of our attention or transfers his loyalties from you. Furthermore, we do not believe a dog should play all day long—dogs also need rest periods and quiet timeouts to relax and regroup, and they get that at Stonehedge each day on a soothing and predictable schedule.
Who can stay? All dogs 14 weeks or older with proof of required vaccines, including Bordetella (kennel Cough), can be accepted into daycare at our internationally known Boarding/Training/Breeding facility.
We firmly believe in the benefits of affordable, supervised daycare and have seen it pay off for many of our clients with fitter, happier, and more socially well-adjusted dogs. Still, the dogs have to be matched with new playmates of the appropriate age, size, disposition, and activity level. Stonehedge Kennel’s owners and staff have the experience to safely integrate your dog into the proper playgroup. If you engage our services on a day or week when we have a few boarders or other daycare clients, we have three sizes of well-socialized dogs in our kennel to offer to socialize your dog. We have friendly toys, medium, and large-size new playmates for your pet.
Our goal is to have your dog happy and tired!
All candidates for daycare begin with an individual evaluation where we recommend the playgroup we think would work best and how often that dog should come to derive the maximum benefits of daycare.
Daycare at the dog resort is not only reserved for dogs that are socialized and like to play. It can also benefit dogs that need confidence toward life in general, super active, and puppies.
Day Care is offered every day but Sunday. Hours are from 9 am to 4 pm. Extended hours are provided with an appointment

What is a typical day at Stonehedge for your dog? After dropping off your pet, your pet will have a little time to relax off some of their excitement or nerves. Then, they will be introduced into a play group suitable to their size and temperament. Dogs that don’t mix well with others will have the same attention and can run independently. Groups or single guests will get to explore, sniff, and more in a double-fenced dog park. Then, they will have a nap where your pet gets their area (heated or air conditioned) to relax and rest before playing again. All our pens are shaded, secured, and equipped with automatic water bowls. We put out swimming pools in the summer and provide coats if necessary in the winter.
